East Fife Football Club is delighted to announce that Liam Newton has signed a one-year contract extension, keeping him at Bayview for the 2026/27 season.
A product of the club’s youth system, Liam is set to enter his seventh season as part of the first-team squad, having progressed through the East Fife Under-20s setup to become a familiar face in black and gold.
The 24-year-old has made 177 appearances for the club to date, scoring seven goals, and has established himself as a valued member of the squad through his commitment, consistency and connection to the football club.
Last season was unfortunately disrupted by injury, limiting Liam’s involvement, but he has now returned to full fitness and is ready to begin preparations for the new campaign.
“Liam sadly missed a lot of games through injury last season, but he's now back fit and ready to go for pre-season. We're really pleased to have him signed up again. The supporters love to see local boys doing well, especially ones who have come through their own youth system. Liam has been part of this club for a long time now and knows exactly what it means to play for East Fife. We're delighted he'll be staying with us.”
