East Fife fell in another challenging 90 minutes for Dick Campbell’s side, as league leaders Inverness Caley Thistle eased to a 3-0 victory at the Sarens PSG Stadium.

The game started disastrously for the Fifers, as Alfie Stewart opened the scoring inside three minutes. Stewart jinked by a handful of Fifers before lashing it past Hemfrey into the side of the goal.

The first half unfolded predictably as ICT controlled proceedings, East Fife had a couple of sniffs at goal, although nothing really of note.

Inverness controlled the major chances of the game, with Stewart the catalyst in both creating and taking the chances. His corner saw captain Devine come close, but the shot was saved by Robbie Hemfrey. Stewart himself also had a save denied by the goalkeeper.

Jordan Alonge was shown the first booking of the 90 when he denied East Fife a counterattack just after half an hour. Connor McManus capitalised on a loose ball and began to break through, but he was held back by Alonge leading to an easy decision for the referee.

Much like when the sides met earlier in the Highlands this season, the second half saw Inverness kick into gear. They had complete control of the second half. Their second goal came just after the hour mark when Paul Allan scored a tidy goal from range.

From there on out there would only be one winner. The third goal came with ten minutes to go. East Fife failed to clear their lines on four separate occasions, allowing Alfie Bavidge to kill the game off in the dying embers.
