Our guest of honour John Huskie had a fabulous time in the hospitality lounge at Bayview on Saturday.

 

A local boy from Buckhaven who went on to play for the team he grew up supporting, John entertained guests with wonderful stories about his time at East Fife, and playing alongside characters like Harry Kinnear, Billy McPhee and John Love.

 

John came along with his wife Alison, family and friends, including old team-mates from Cameron Boys Club, and bumped into Bert Paton, who first signed John as a 15-year-old for – whisper it – Raith Rovers.

 

He was also reunited with a silver tray presented to East Fife by Coleraine FC in 1977, when John was part of an East Fife tour of the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

 

John is a regular at Bayview but has been absent recently because of health issues – but we are delighted to see he is on the mend and his passion for East Fife burns as brightly as ever.
